Our Veterinary Services
At River Grove Animal Hospital in Mississauga, we offer a wide range of veterinary services focused on preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment—all delivered with compassion, communication, and attention to your pet’s comfort.
Dental
At River Grove Animal Hospital, we understand the critical importance of maintaining your pet’s oral health through comprehensive dental care. Our skilled veterinary team provides thorough dental cleanings and examinations to prevent periodontal disease, which affects most pets by age three. Regular dental maintenance prevents serious health complications that can affect the heart, liver, and kidneys.
Our dental process begins with a complete examination of your pet’s head, neck, face, ears, and mouth. We then perform thorough cleaning to remove all plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line. Following the cleaning, our vet provides personalized at-home care recommendations, including pet-safe toothpaste and dental chews.
Surgery
Modern veterinary surgery offers solutions for countless health issues that pets face throughout their lives. We perform procedures ranging from routine spay and neuter operations to intricate soft tissue repairs and emergency interventions. At River Grove Animal Hospital, surgical expertise meets personalized care to give your pet the best possible outcome.
Pre-surgical bloodwork helps us identify any underlying conditions that might affect your pet’s procedure. Modern monitoring equipment tracks vital signs while your pet rests safely under anesthesia. Recovery support includes detailed home care guidance and follow-up appointments to ensure your vet can monitor healing progress effectively.
Medical Cases
Complex health problems don’t follow predictable patterns, which is why diagnostic expertise matters when your pet faces serious symptoms. Seizures can strike without warning, while breathing difficulties may develop gradually or appear suddenly. River Grove Animal Hospital handles these hard cases using advanced ultrasound, full blood tests, and detailed fecal exams.
Skin conditions often mask deeper systemic issues that require careful investigation beyond surface treatments. Stomach problems like ongoing vomiting or bloody diarrhea need quick action. When standard approaches fall short, our vet employs specialized diagnostic protocols to solve medical puzzles.
Emergency Cases
When accidents happen, every second counts for your pet’s survival and recovery. Poisoning, serious injuries, and sudden collapse need quick expert care. Home remedies cannot help. Our established network connects you with seven emergency facilities throughout the Greater Toronto Area when crisis strikes.
River Grove Animal Hospital works with special clinics like Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital and Toronto Animal Health Partners. They cover after-hours care. These relationships ensure seamless transitions from routine care to critical interventions. Whether it’s midnight or the weekend, our vet network provides the urgent expertise your companion needs during their most vulnerable moments.
Vaccines
Disease prevention starts with building your pet’s natural defenses through carefully timed immunizations that protect against serious illnesses. Core vaccines protect dogs from parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, and rabies. Cats get protection against panleukopenia, calicivirus, and rhinotracheitis. Additional vaccines may be recommended based on your pet’s lifestyle and specific risk factors.
Vaccine schedules begin during puppyhood and kittenhood, with booster shots maintaining immunity throughout your pet’s lifetime. River Grove Animal Hospital uses set protocols to give the best protection and reduce side effects. When most pets get proper vaccines, herd immunity protects the whole community. Vaccination is a duty that helps all animals.
Pet Wellness
Proactive health management keeps your companion thriving through every stage of life, from energetic puppyhood to their golden years. Annual checkups catch potential problems early, when treatment options are most effective and less invasive. These visits include full physical exams, vaccine updates, parasite prevention, and tests made for your pet’s needs.
Special life stages require focused attention to address unique health challenges and opportunities. Puppies and kittens need baseline health assessments around eight weeks old, plus guidance on proper nutrition and training. River Grove Animal Hospital provides specialized care plans for senior pets, monitoring age-related conditions while your vet tracks subtle changes over time.

FAQs
How long has your veterinary practice been serving the community?
Since 2008, River Grove Animal Hospital has given quality care to pets in the Greater Toronto Area. We have built strong ties with families in Mississauga, Brampton, Milton, and Oakville. Our veterinary experience spans over 15 years, with Dr. Bangar bringing additional expertise from his international background in animal care. We’ve grown from a small practice to a trusted Animal Hospital while maintaining our commitment to personalized attention and community connections.
What age should I start bringing my puppy or kitten for care?
Young pets should begin their veterinary care around 6-8 weeks of age for their first wellness exam and initial vaccinations. Our preventive care includes several visits in the first months. We set up parasite prevention, talk about nutrition, and watch healthy growth. Early vet visits help establish good healthcare habits and ensure your new companion gets the best possible start in life.
What technology do you use for diagnostics?
Our modern equipment includes digital X-rays, ultrasound imaging, and a full lab inside the hospital. This gives faster results than sending samples outside. This advanced technology allows us to perform comprehensive wellness testing, blood work analysis, and diagnostic imaging all in one location. Having these tools readily available means we can provide quicker answers and more efficient patient care for your pet’s health concerns.
Do you offer services beyond routine medical care?
Besides standard vet care, we offer special services like laser therapy for many conditions, full dental cleaning, and kind end-of-life care when needed. Our Toronto vet clinic also offers client education programs to help pet owners understand their companion’s healthcare needs and maintain optimal health between visits. We strive to be a complete resource for all aspects of your pet’s well-being throughout their entire life.
